Mashooka presents
New in Collection: Mesh items for Fall 2011
For Mashooka's second Mesh release I wanted to create something to show all of you what Mesh adds to Second Life.
Mesh makes designs possible that weren't possible to create with "just" texturing of clothes, allthough sculpties improved the way we could make things in SL, they weren't ideal for clothes because they didn't really move with the body.
Chantal is a complete outfit that sets the standard for mesh designs I would like to see in SL. The hardest part was the design of the colbert (jacket), its pattern consist out a lot of individual pieces (for the technicians: adding up to more then 10.000 polygons), since SL doesn't support texturing inside the mesh I had to work my way around that too for the parts that are visible from two sides.
I own an outfit like this in RL, my inspiration. The combination of the mesh and the textures makes Chantal look like the real thing. I especially like the brim/border that comes back in the color of the skirt.
To fit everyone's taste i made Chantal in 5 colors. This outfit makes you look smart and cute, for business and going out.
To make your look less formal I added this trendy chique sweater piece, which can be combined with the Chantal skirts too.
With Mesh designs the most challenging is to fit a shape. The idea that mesh doesn't fit your avatar is not completely true. It adjusts your length and size but a certain shape is kept with mesh clothing. And especially the 'breast' and 'butt' size, as named in game, won't adjust along your avatar shape.
I did try my best to make 3 sizes for my designs and I hope that it will match a lot of shapes.
Thank you for the feedback about the Janice Mesh dress, from this I understood that there is a demand for a more voluptuous size. And I will try my best to fit this more in future designs.
Janice my 1st Mesh is still available in Mashooka's Member group (200L entree)
